Melody of the Betrayed

Melodies of a song, playing the chords of time.

Processing pain, betrayal, recurring notes, a familiar rhyme.

Defending over and over again, foe masked as friend.

Weary from recovery, overcoming the growing trend.

Surrendering from the hope of trying.

Crushing for joyʼs oil, laughter shines through crying.

Hope risen beautifying a perplexed soul.

Jesus the Composer, rescoring, transforming the goal.

Cloaked in the garment of praise,

His love, the tune to which my hands are raised.

He promises to always be there,

Adjusting heart strings with care.

Betrayal’s melody, re-written, infused with God’s harmony.

The Author creating new notes, dancing to a new story.

A symphony beautifully re-arranged for my good, His glory.

Healing balm He puts liberally on my heart,

Pressing in, recognizing His plan, a new song from the start.

Deliverer, my Refuge, hiding me in plain sight,

Giving me rest, my Defender, it has always been Your fight.

Melody of betrayal, no longer reflection’s cadence.

Timing flooded; reflecting Your radiant presence.

Shining forth, the original tune never lasting long.

Betrayal’s melody now the Conductor’s love song.
